Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was the daughter of
Gayle (Gaston), the national director of Mary Kay and Freddie Wright an
executive pharmacist. She was raised in San Diego, California. Her professional
journey began when she was 14 as a model. She has worked both in Paris, Japan
and Paris. After high school graduation, she became an actress. She was chosen
to be a part of the soap-opera Santa Barbara (1984), which was nominated three
more times for Daytime Emmys. During the first season of the show, she became a
fan of co-star Dane Witherspoon, whom she was married in 1986. In 1987, she was
the role of the title character in The Princess Bride. She was in the role of
Santa Barbara but left to be a part of Denial (1990) with Jason Patric. It was
during State of Grace (1990) at the time she was introduced to Sean Penn. They
had daughters Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood
with Tara, one of the most significant roles of her career, after taking a
break. She was a stunning actress and a brilliant performer. In the following
film, she played Toys (1992) with Robin Williams, and she gave a funny
performance. Wright was in 1994's blockbuster smash Forrest Gump (1994),
starring with Tom Hanks. For her performance as Jenny she was awarded an award
nomination for the Golden Globe Award. She was offered a minor part in The
Crossing Guard (1995) along with Jack Nicholson. After a string of rejections,
she finally got the lead role played by MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen
Densham directed her and Stockard Channing was the lead. Then, she starred in
Erin Dignam's Loved (1997), with William Hurt.
