Rita Ora Bio

Rita Ora, a British musician and singer. Rita Sahatciu Ora was a British singer-songwriter , born to Vera Bajraktari and Besnik Sahatciu in Pristina, Kosovo in 1990. She is the granddaughter of director Besim Sahatciu. At the age of one, her family made the decision to move to England. She was born in West London, attended St Cuthbert with St Matthias CE Primary School in Earls Court and graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre School. She started singing as a child. In 2004, she was featured in the British film Spivs. After auditioning for Eurovision: Your Country needs You (BBC One) and being selected to represent the UK in the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest. She was later unable to participate in the competition after a few episodes because she felt that the stage wasn't set. Ora released her first single in 2007 when she was featured in Craig David's track "Awkward" followed by another appearance in 2008 on "Where’s Your Love" featuring TinchyStryder. Ora began singing in bars around London In 2009, A&R reported to Roc Nation about Ora, a few days after Ora went to New York and met Jay-Z. In 2009, Ora made a cameo in Jay-Z's video of "Young Forever" and "Over" by Drake. Jay-Z took note of Ora and quietly signed her up with Roc Nation. She was featured in a commercial featuring Skullcandy Aviator Headphones. The singer began her singing career in the same pub her father, Besnik, was a pub owner. Gwen Stefani is a major influence on her manner of speaking. She also mentions her father, Besnik who was a pub's owner. Kate Moss and Ed Sheeran are close friends.
