Seehorn, born May 12, 1972 is an American actress. She is well-known for her
role as attorney Kim Wexler in AMC's Better Call Saul (2015-present), in which
she has been two times winner of the Satellite Award for Best Supporting
Actress for Series, Miniseries or Television Film. She has also appeared on
NBC's Whitney (2011-2013) as well as ABC's I'm with Her (2003-2004), and TNT's
Franklin & Bash (2011-2014). Deborah Rhea Seehorn was born in Norfolk, Virginia,
on May 12 on the 12th of May, 1972. Her mother was an executive assistant for
the United States Navy, and her father was an agent for the Naval Investigative
Service. She was raised by a family that was constantly moving, including the
cities of Washington, D.C., Arizona as well as Japan. Following the footsteps
of her father and grandmother who were artists, she began studying painting,
drawing and architecture at an early age. Though she pursued all of the arts in
her life, it was during this time that she discovered a passion for acting. In
college she was introduced modern theater. She earned her degree from George
Mason University in 1994 with a BA in Studio Art. Seehorn began her college
career as an actor, and was encouraged by her acting teacher. She tried to gain
attention by working at various ancillary jobs in D.C. theater. The result was
some prominent roles in local theater productions but had to find odd jobs to
pay the bills; she took roles in several short instructional films. In the next
few years, she was able to be cast in TV productions. The roles she played were
usually that were "very wry and sarcastic" like her role model Bea
Arthur. But, the majority of the roles she played were part-time series that
ended after just two or three seasons. In May 2014, Seehorn was cast in the
Breaking Bad spin-off prequel series Better Call Saul. Seehorn portrays Kim
Wexler, a lawyer as well as the love interest of the main Jimmy McGill/Saul
Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).
