Sofia Vergara was a Colombian model who later relocated to the United States to become a television host at Univision. She started film acting in the year 2000. The Emmy-nominated character of Gloria DelgadoPritchett from the hit sitcom Modern Family made her a household celebrity. Hot Pursuit, Happy Feet Two and Happy Feet Two were other projects she was involved in.

Career and early life

Sofia Vergara, a Colombian girl, was born to an extensive Colombian family in Barranquilla on the 10th of July 1972. Vergara began learning English after completing her dental studies and at bilingual elementary schools. Vergara who was found on a beach by a photographer who found her, got her first break on the screen by appearing in the Pepsi commercial. Vergara then worked as model for Mexican Telenovelas and later became a household name.

Vergara, who made the move from Spain to America in the mid-1990s, would host the travel show Fuera de Serie and the variety show A Que No Te Atreves. A large audience of English-speaking viewers also noted Vergara's appearance at the 1995 American Comedy Awards.

 

Vergara made her debut in the 2002 film Big Trouble. Rene Russo also starred with her. In 2003, she was Vergara's chase for Papi. Vergara is Thomas Fuentes' friend. She was a star in Tyler Perry's Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes To Jail(2009) movies by the close of the decade. Vergara also made her Broadway debut playing Mama Morton in Chicago.

Vergara was also the first to portray the character of Gloria DelgadoPritchett in Modern Family's sitcom Modern Family. __S.20__ Vergara earned four Emmy and Golden Globe nominations consecutively in the supporting act category. In 2017, she was nominated for the People's Choice Award as her favorite comedian. The award was announced shortly before Modern Family was approved in May 2020. Vergara was also the voice of Carmen on Happy Feet Two, a sequel to the 2006 animated film. For the end of the year, Vergara joined the ensemble cast for New Year's Eve. Numerous follow-up projects were made such as the action flick Machete Kills (2013) and the art-house productions Fading Gigolo and Chef (2014) which were both co-produced and directed by Jon Favreau.

Hot Pursuit, a 2015 comedy by Vergara and Reese Witherspoon, was Vergara's collaboration with Witherspoon. Vergara was also a part of Vergara on The Female Brain. Vergara also contributed her voice and voice for The Emoji Movie, which was released in the year 2017. She then switched gears to star in the 2018 thriller Bent and the baseball drama of 2017 Bottom of the 9th.

Vergara was the first to witness the benefits of her financial success prior to when she became the highest-paid television actress. She co-founded Latin World Entertainment in 1994.

In 2011, the actress began her own Kmart line of clothing . She three years later, she launched an assortment of perfumes and jewelry. Walmart was her partner to launch a denim collection in 2019.

Personal Life

 

Vergara was discovered to have thyroid cancer by an endocrinologist in 2000. Since then she's had radiotherapy, surgery and is now taking medications every day to manage her metabolism. Vergara established a foundation in order to help families in Colombia dealing with cancer.

Vergara got married to Joe Gonzalez her childhood sweetheart and had one son Manolo in 1992. In 1993, Vergara and Joe Gonzalez broke up. Vergara was married to Nick Loeb in July 2012, an American co-owner of a production company for film. However, in May 2014, Vergara and Loeb called the sacrament.

Vergara got into a legal battle in 2015 along with Loeb. Loeb sued Vergara in 2015 over her control over the frozen embryos that she and Loeb had created when they got married. Vergara claimed that he was planning to destroy the embryos. But she denied the claim. Vergara said she was content to freeze embryos for an indefinite period according to a statement she gave to People magazine.

Vergara began dating Joe Manganiello (True Blood, Magic Mike hunks) shortly after the breakup. Vergara was engaged to Manganiello in December 2014. Vergara also announced that she was granted American citizenship during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live appearance.
