Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1st, 1970) was born in Chennai. Lakshmi lost her parents at the age of two years old. Her mother moved to USA to avoid the stigma of India. Lakshmi was a resident for two years with her maternal grandparents in Chennai prior to her move to the United States. Her parents divorced after that and she has a younger half-brother and a half-sister from her father. Lakshmi, whose name is the Hindu goddess of prosperity, wealth and prosperity, was born in New York. She then was raised by her stepfather and mother in Los Angeles. Every year, she traveled to India to visit family members for several more months. Padma Lakshmi became interested in acting in 1999. She appeared in "Figlio di Sandokan", an Italian Pirate film.
